Overview

I joined a small niche accountancy practice as my first job where I qualified and eventually became joint senior partner. In 1999 the practice merged with Levy Gee which subsequently became one of the legacy firms in RSM Tenon, the seventh largest accounting firm in the UK. I am a director in the business advisory team and head the firm’s Hospitality & Leisure sector.

Advising clients over the years has given me a fantastic insight into how businesses of all types and sizes operate. Working closely with the owners and management of these businesses enables my training and experience to ensure that clients turn to me when important decisions are needed to be made.

The role that I enjoy now is that of non executive finance director where the business does not warrant a full time position. Attending board meetings, testing the strategy of the business and just as important asking the necessary questions of the management. I call this service ‘accountant on board’.

The sector that I enjoy most is the hospitality & Leisure sector where my passion and love of hotels and restaurants can be joined with my skill and knowledge of the numbers and issues involved.
